For quite some time I've been trying to resolve a recursive package listing with Woody. How can I fix this so dselect works properly again? Are there cache files that I can clear? In the meantime I've been using apt but that's not a solution I'd like to stick with.
Here's a snip from dselect: " dselect - recursive package listing mark:+/=/- verbose:v help:? EIOM Pri Section Package Description *** Req base libc6 GNU C Library: Shared libraries and Timezone data *** Opt interpre spamassassin Perl-based spam filter using text analysis " Here's a bit more info too: " webserv:~# dpkg -l spamassassin libc6 Desired=Unknown/Install/Remove/Purge/Hold | Status=Not/Installed/Config-files/Unpacked/Failed-config/Half-installed |/ Err?=(none)/Hold/Reinst-required/X=both-problems (Status,Err: uppercase=bad) ||/ Name Version Description +++-=========================-=========================-================ ================================================== ii spamassassin 2.20-1woody3 Perl-based spam filter using text analysis ii libc6 2.2.5-11.5 GNU C Library: Shared libraries and Timezone data " My /etc/apt/sources.list says " webserv:~# cat /etc/apt/sources.list deb http://http.us.debian.org/debian stable main contrib non-free deb ftp://ftp.us.debian.org/debian stable main contrib non-free deb http://security.debian.org/ stable/updates main contrib non-free " I have installed some software outside of the Debian package world but nothing system level. I always look for the software through Debian before resorting to source builds and installs. Thanks!
