always the same error:
   mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/loop0,
     or too many mounted file systems
   

Before write to disk you must turn off your VM.

If your virtual disk consist more then 1 file look at the vmware-mount.pl.
     

I also send you the output of   ' hexdump -C'

I fogot to say that in VM directory may exist a few *.vmdk files.  You
greped disk description file.  From this file you can see that your
virtual disk consist from set of *.vmdk files: 'win2k-1-s00[1-4].vmdk'.
Please, show vmware-mount.pl with arguments which you run.
