-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi,
I had a bare debian box without any x libraries. I wanted to install gkrellm and xforward it to another box. so I did an apt-get install gkrellm and turned on the X11Forward in sshd and logged into the box with ssh -X box ... BUT I just got an error that he can't open the display. The reason was, he couldn't create the .Xauthority file because xauth was not there. so I had to manually install xbase-clients. After that it worked. So my question is, why is this not installed if it is needed by gkrellm if you don't have a full x install. Are there any kind of reasons for this? - -- Clemens Schwaighofer - IT Engineer & System Administration ========================================================== Tequila Japan, 6-17-2 Ginza Chuo-ku, Tokyo 104-8167, JAPAN Tel: +81-(0)3-3545-7703 Fax: +81-(0)3-3545-7343 http://www.tequila.jp ========================================================== -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.3 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFAMzinjBz/yQjBxz8RAosuAJ9uD50guP3HTSC5/JRmUh6aMsTZ+ACg23Dv ZHa+bwyb2O9cb6ArL7yjupE= =SS9o -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
