Both money and time are important for us. We might just have better relations with businesses contributing time, because of their more frequent interactions with Debian.

in the Debian ecosystem?
Debian being an organization heavily relying on the sponsorship money, and on unpaid contributions, we cannot afford to keep a huge distance from these businesses. But at the same time, we cannot afford too much closeness affecting our decision making. I would say that these business should be at such a distance that none of us interfere with each others' autonomy and decision making.
