I wonder what the difference is between this and the existing, standard lsb_release command. I'm not saying we shouldn't create a new package, if lsb_release is not sufficient for some reason. I'm just not sure what the reason is. Can someone write up a few sentences about what this package does that makes it necessary, instead of using lsb_release?
