Well, this maven plugin is needed to package castor (#581862).

Additionally, there is a maven repository in Debian at /usr/share/maven-repo,
and there are many maven plugins already in Debian, just check
http://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=maven&searchon=names&suite=unstable&section=all

Besides, upstream Java projects are increasingly using Maven so there is
a need to have Maven components in the archive.
