Note that gnote is the last thing in the archive using dbus-c++ (not to be confused with libdbus, dbus-cpp or dbus-cxx), which is somewhat active upstream, but has never made a release, and is orphaned in Debian. (Its upstream location has also changed since the last snapshot in Debian.) If you want to adopt gnote, please either try to port gnote to a different D-Bus implementation (GDBus from GLib 2.26+ is probably the way forward), disable D-Bus support, or adopt dbus-c++ (but note that according to https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=618330 it seems likely to be rather broken).
