the single remaining blocker is still the incompatibility with the Python interface LIBSVM, Version 2.9 and higher. I offered some compatibility patches upstream [0] which restore the original functionality, but it's mostly just a hack, and I recommended against having them included. Rather, upstream (or somebody else with more knowledge of pybrain's internals) should rework the pybrain<->LIBSVM bridge to accomodate for the LIBSVM 2.9+ changes. Upstream was very cooperative in the past, they just had a manpower problem (at that time, at least). If you're willing to take a shot at it, you might be able to help them out with either proper use of LIBSVM, or a switch to scikits-learn (see [0] again). Either way, [1] should contain a fairly complete packaging. I haven't updated it in a while, but as I recall everything was fine, except for the LIBSVM thing. If you're interested in co-, group or team-maintainership, let me know!
