I have packages ready that work-for-me, but i am sure they will not work for lot's of users, because of the very limited code... That's why i decided not to upload them, until this is fixed... The version from gkacpi.sf.net was definitely better, but... (for example: hard-coded Power Device name, that did not match my ac supply acpi name; i had to change it; it then worked fine; hard-coded battery names; i had to change the sequence, making BAT1 the first (BAT1 is the battery-only slot on my notebook) to have it detect acpi at all... furthermore gkrellm (or acpi itself maybe in my devel kernel, due to the heavy use...) tends to lock up after some time now. It might be the best X acpi battery monitor i know, but it's far from suiteable for release, imho. If you disagree with me on the releaseability, feel free to just upload gkrellm and close this ITP.
