I expect there is very little, if any, difference; they're both GNU code, and I would be amazed if it were not simply duplicated. However, since none of the *BSD ports have GNU libc, and not all of them implement iconv() in a native fashion, it is necessary to have the package available. It can be limited to only those architectures which lack an implementation of iconv(), if it would cause problems; this is part of why I CC'ed the ITP to debian-devel. -- *************************************************************************** Joel Baker System Administrator - lightbearer.com [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://users.lightbearer.com/lucifer/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
