This is a video and image sequence playback application. Really its strong suit IMO is playing sequences of images which are of EXR or other formats typically used in the film industry. There are some image viewers with this focus out there but they usually focus on viewing single images. This also has some image conversion capabilities as well. The upstream developer does build .deb packages, but I did not find a source package. I tried to do some work to build it against system libraries but it looks like they are using some later versions of image libraries that I wasn't totally sure how to handle.
