Well, I've been receiving multiple bug reports through various lists in the past days from the libpng maintainers which asked people to fix their B-D regarding libpng-dev to prepare for libpng1.6 and setting these bugs as blockers for the transition bug. And since Stretch is to be frozen on December, 5th, I'm pretty sure transition is going to start in the near future unless you have any more definitive insider information I don't have. Adrian
