Hi William, sorry that it took me a long time to answer again. Pgpool is a complex piece of software, and the problem with the package is that it could use a lot of general attention. There is a whole series of testsuites in there, but it is yet unclear, which of parts these should be run at build time, and which from autopkgtest in debian/tests/*. I'd greatly appreciate if someone could untangle these so we could have more confidence that the packages built are really working. There are only two bugs open, but both need checking if they still apply (or in the case of #87222, if it makes sense at all, given it's only a subject with a reference to a pgpool upstream bug number). Also, we are still on 3.4, though Marco has already packaged 3.5 in git. Getting that finished, tested, and uploaded would be nice. debian/rules looks pretty complex, maybe it could be simplified.
