You were still listed in the script as author when I forked the git, so arguably noone else stepped up and claimed to "author" it since your work - just "contributed" to it. The upstream project will (from next release, in git since yesterday) have me as author in POD, as I interpret it as who _is_ authoring (i.e. what we call maintainer in Debian) rather than previous authoring. ...speaking of previous authoring: April 20th, 2007, you changed comments from "originally [...] from the KDE SDK" to "originally [...] from the KDE SDK (by dfa...@kde.org)" ...but it seems from my resurrecting old SVN commits that a) the person referenced is David Faure <fa...@kde.org> (no "d" in email address), and that b) the script was not introduced by David Faure but instead by Stefan Westerfeld <ste...@space.twc.de> (on Jan 28 2000). Does it seem likely that you made a typo in the email? Would you agree that it makes better sense to emphasize the _original_ author than the (I guess) later maintainer? > I guess "the devscripts development team" or somesuch would be better, > although since the package has been in collab-maint the script has had > a fair amount of work from people who may not consider themselves part > of the team as such. Those listed as copyright holders in the code will be respected as such. Those contributing without adding themselves as copyright holders I will consider "contributors" but not authors nor copyright holders. I welcome criticism on my approach. - Jonas -- * Jonas Smedegaard - idealist & Internet-arkitekt * Tlf.: +45 40843136 Website: http://dr.jones.dk/ [x] quote me freely [ ] ask before reusing [ ] keep private
