Hi Jonathan,

this package is just one of the standard tables that are available in
casacore. Unfortunately, the original table is maintained in a somehow
intransparent way at NRAO and ASTRON (looks both institutes maintain it
separately), with no "source" available, and without a clear license
attached. Also this original list seems to be old (2007?), buggy (f.e.
https://github.com/casacore/casacore/issues/304), and incomplete (often
some coordinates are missing).

To have an open start here, I compiled a list of telescopes and their
coordinates from Wikipedia. The list is obviously not very accurate yet,
but I hope that we can improve that from public references as time goes.
If you can point me to reference geolocations of the VLBI network
observatories, that would be really helpful. However, for the effects
you describe I am bound to what casacore can take (which is just a plain
coordinates in WGS-84 and x/y/z).

Best regards

Ole
