PyWayland provides a wrapper to the libwayland library using the CFFI library to provide access to the Wayland library calls and written in pure Python. This will be a dependency for the next version of safeeyes (https://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=safeeyes). I am an upstream maintainer of Safe Eyes. This will also help future python apps which interact with Wayland protocols. I would like to maintain this with the PythonTeam. While I am familiar with Debian packaging, I have never maintained an official Debian package, so having a more experienced co-maintainer would be helpful. Yes, I need a sponsor (I have not maintained any official Debian package before).
