The ROCTracer project is composed of two components: the ROCTracer
library and the ROC-TX library. The ROCtracer library provides
interfaces to capture and inspect AMD ROCm runtime calls and AMD GPU
event data, while the ROC-TX library provides interfaces to annotate
those traces with additional contextual information.
The ROC-TX library is a dependency of PyTorch and other high-level
GPU-accelerated libraries. It is used for correlating low-level events
visible in performance profiling traces with the high-level
functionality that they implement. The ROCTracer library is used by
ROCProfiler and other AMD GPU performance profiling tools.
This package is part of the AMD ROCm stack and will be maintained under
the Debian AI team umbrella.
