Description : GTK+ IRC client
ZoiteChat is a graphical IRC client with a GTK+ GUI. Features include
Python, Perl and Lua scripting support, a plugin API, multiple
server/channel windows, spell checking, multiple authentication methods
including SASL, and customizable notifications. For more information on
IRC, see http://irchelp.org/.
ZoiteChat is a new fork of HexChat, itself a fork of X-Chat 2,
maintained outside of debian with an active community. A refactor is in
progress to replace the GTK+2 gui frontend with GTK+3, with possible
support for other gui toolkits to be added in the future.
* This is a "bookmark" ITP - I will proceed with the source package once
an upstream release is available without the dependency on GTK+2.
I previously maintained HexChat from 2014-2016 and use the application
daily, so I would be happy to take care of a successor.
