Did you try the lmodern package? The Latin Modern fonts are "enhanced"
(with accented characters and more) Computer Modern fonts in Type 1
format. As far as French typesetting is concerned, they are similar to
cm-super but it seems they are of better quality (I say "seems" because
I am not myself a font expert).
Perhaps they could solve the problem for you and your friends.
Hi, Florent.
I didn't know about the lmodern package. Thank you for bringing it to my
attention. I am downloading it right now and I'll try it soon. Now if it
only included the Concrete Mathematics Type 1 fonts, I would be the
happiest man.
PS: the lmodern version in unstable (0.86-9) has X and defoma support
for the fonts; for TeX-related work only, the version in testing
(0.86-7) should be equivalent.
Amazing. I hope that the unstable version enters testing soon.
Thank you very much, Rogério Brito.
