Package: wnpp I'm orphaning one of my packages, hybserv. The description follows:
Description: IRC services for IRCD-Hybrid HybServ is a daemon that connects to your IRCD-Hybrid server and automagically provides nickname, channel, memo, and oper services to your entire network if it is configured correctly to talk with your IRC server. . In short, these allow users to register nicknames and channels to prevent EFnet-style takeovers thereof, allows opers to easily manage glines, klines, and other server settings, and allows users with registered nicknames to leave messages for one another. . HybServ is the services package of choice on IRC networks such as Aniverse. Although I continue to actively maintain the ircd-hybrid both as part of upstream and in the Debian package, hybserv has a not-so-good codebase, poor upstream response, and on top of all of that I don't use it anymore at all. The Debian package has a few things here and there that I understand could be done a lot better that have not been effected in the package. Therefore if a competent maintainer wishes to adopt this and DTRT, be my guest. Regards -- Joshua Kwan
