[This RFA is also valid for the mozart-doc, mozart-gtk, and
mozart-stdlib packages, which are built from the same source
package as mozart.]

I plan to retire from Debian at the end of this year, and
therefore I'm offering my packages for adoption.

Mozart is an advanced development platform for intelligent,
distributed applications. It is based on the Oz language,
which supports declarative programming, object-oriented
programming, constraint programming, and concurrency as part of
a coherent whole. For distribution, Mozart provides a true
network transparent implementation with support for network
awareness, openness, and fault tolerance. Security is
upcoming. Mozart is an ideal platform for both general-purpose
distributed applications as well as for hard problems requiring
sophisticated optimization and inferencing abilities.

For more information, see the Mozart home page at
http://www.mozart-oz.org/.

There are currently a number of bugs against the mozart family
of packages. Two of them are packaging issues (#200689,
#209833), two are upstream bugs (which should be fixed with the
next stable release of Mozart).

Maintaining Mozart is by no means a trivial task. It requires
profound knowledge of the standard build tools and close
familiarity with the Debian policy. The current
Debian-specific patch against the upstream sources is rather
large; for example, Mozart was not originally planned to
support the FHS. Upstream is very cooperative, however, and
they are happy to integrate Debian-specific things if this is
done in a modular way (eg, by compiler directives).

    Best,
    Marco
