I will do so myself around 20. of October, though that will be too late for sarge, and I have no time to work further on it before then. Further I have no clue on Hesiod, LDAP and NIS+, if you use one of these and want to help you're welcome. You don't need to be a registered Debian developer. Unfortunately, I've been too busy for a long time now, more busy than I thought first. The problem is that it's not a simple task to update to a newer version of autofs, since the new package should be compatible as much as possible to the existing package. The main problem is the init script, which has become very Debian specific. Note that Ian Kent, the upstream author of autofs, has already merged some of the debian/patches into the upstream code. -Daniel The package description is: Autofs controls the operation of the automount daemons. The automount daemons automatically mount filesystems when they are used and unmount them after a period of inactivity. This is done based on a set of pre-configured maps. . The kernel automounter implements an almost complete SunOS style automounter under Linux. The automounter is supported by Linux kernels 2.0.31 and higher. Automounter support must be activated while compiling the kernel. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (50, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.8-1-686 Locale: LANG=de_CH, LC_CTYPE=de_CH --------------------------------------- Received: (at 269203-close) by bugs.debian.org; 1 Sep 2004 21:38:04 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Sep 01 14:38:04 2004 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from newraff.debian.org [208.185.25.31] (mail) by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1C2cns-00038U-00; Wed, 01 Sep 2004 14:38:04 -0700 Received: from katie by newraff.debian.org with local (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1C2ci3-0004G5-00; Wed, 01 Sep 2004 17:32:03 -0400 From: Arthur Korn <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Katie: $Revision: 1.51 $ Subject: Bug#269203: fixed in autofs 3.9.99-4.0.0pre10-17 Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sender: Archive Administrator <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Wed, 01 Sep 2004 17:32:03 -0400 Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-6.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00,HAS_BUG_NUMBER autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 X-Spam-Level: X-CrossAssassin-Score: 6 Source: autofs Source-Version: 3.9.99-4.0.0pre10-17 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of autofs, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: autofs-hesiod_3.9.99-4.0.0pre10-17_i386.deb to pool/main/a/autofs/autofs-hesiod_3.9.99-4.0.0pre10-17_i386.deb autofs-ldap_3.9.99-4.0.0pre10-17_i386.deb to pool/main/a/autofs/autofs-ldap_3.9.99-4.0.0pre10-17_i386.deb autofs_3.9.99-4.0.0pre10-17.diff.gz to pool/main/a/autofs/autofs_3.9.99-4.0.0pre10-17.diff.gz autofs_3.9.99-4.0.0pre10-17.dsc to pool/main/a/autofs/autofs_3.9.99-4.0.0pre10-17.dsc autofs_3.9.99-4.0.0pre10-17_i386.deb to pool/main/a/autofs/autofs_3.9.99-4.0.0pre10-17_i386.deb A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached.
