Hi,

I cannot work on python-maplotlib for the forseeable future, but you may
be interested by the changes I made to the packages. I'm attaching the
changelog excerpt.

Attachment: changelog_excerpt.bz2
Description: Binary data

At least, I think the treatment done to the example scripts so that they
can be easily tested (hit Enter in mc...) is worth keeping.

As for the documentation, there are two problems:
  - the pdf file: should not be hard to fix (short-term: mention it in
    README.Debian, as you suggested; long-term: ask JDH to ship the
    source files and generate the PDF doc at build time);
  - the pydoc-generated documentation: apparently, pydoc has problems
    examining some of the C source files and this may be tricky to fix
    the Right Way(TM).

Another thing to keep an eye on is the gazillion zone files. I think it
is ridiculous to have all of them byte-compiled... twice! (.pyc, .pyo)

Regards,
