I've successfully packaged qingy!!! (ah-ah-ah, I finished exams three weeks ago! :P)
Speaking seriously, I used the version 0.7.1, and I found no problems starting an X session. It mutters something about a non-existing directory (the x_sessions in settings file) but X starts anyway. I also mailed the author some hints for the pam configuration. regards Riccardo
