It is still up for adoption.

The packaging is fairly simple. The main reason I'm giving it up is
simply lack of time for Debian and this is the package I maintain which
interests me the least.

As for the upstream code, knowledge of C and possibly some assembly
(e.g., #412713 is a problem with some assembly on s390) would be needed.
It would also be useful to have a variety of hardware to test hwinfo's
reports.

It's also worth noting that hwinfo is developed for SuSE which
specifically patches their kernel to include some code which was
dropped from the official Linux kernel some time ago. This is the
reason for the kbd.c-tiocgdev_undefined patch in the Debian packaging.
I'm not sure if there are other kernel patches SuSE uses which may cause
further problems down the line.
