What is the status of this bug? It appears to have been abandoned. scorpius.homelinux.org is no longer available. There is no quake3 in debian.
If no one objects, I'd like to take over this packaging project. I would use the latest version available from ioquake3. IOQuake3 is a GPL Quake3 engine based on id's quake3 sources. It has bug fixes and improvements. It is probably the most popular quake3 engine. For those looking for a quake 3 arena game to play, debian has openarena packaged. OpenArena is ioquake3 plus free game content, for a 100% playable, free game.
