Helllo, I'm the author of rrdUtils package. I've seen this bug/request nearly by chance, and I want to inform that there is already an available debian package. I'm not sure if it complies with the packaging policies, but I'm open to adopt them, and in any case the 'debian' directory is available at sourceforge CVS (http://rrdutils.cvs.sourceforge.net/rrdutils/rrdUtils/debian/), as well as the "binary" (it's perl) package.
