  Hi,

  I love dog. And url2file could use dog instead of wget. But url2file
is designed to allow this onliner:

   diff $(url2file http://foo.com/) $(url2file http://bar.com/)

  The idea is not that url2file prints the content of the file but the
name of the local file.

  That usage is what makes url2file unique. I would *love* to discover
that another command line already does the job. The closest I found was
kioexec. But connecting to the X display is often an embarassement.
