Package: wnpp Severity: normal I request an adopter for the chkrootkit package.
The package is not in a bad shape at the moment, but there are a number of bugs (some with proposed patches) that need to be looked at. Also, the package deviates from upstream quite a bit and a number of patches (which I have just converted to dpatch) need to be sent to the upstream developers. The packaging is currently maintained here: http://git.debian.org/?p=collab-maint/chkrootkit.git I have little time to help with the maintenance of the package itself, but would be available to sponsor uploads should you need it. The package description is: The chkrootkit security scanner searches the local system for signs that it is infected with a 'rootkit'. Rootkits are set of programs and hacks designed to take control of a target machine by using known security flaws. . Types that chkrootkit can identify are listed on the project's home page. . Please note that where chkrootkit detects no intrusions, this does not guarantee that the system is uncompromised. In addition to running chkrootkit, more specific tests should always be performed. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
