Hi Daniel, The HSO driver was added in the 2.6.27 mainline kernel, which will (hopefully soon) reach Debian unstable. I haven't checked however if the module is built on default Debian images.
I think efforts should be done on packaging ozerocdoff (seems to be a better & more stable replacement for rezero) and hsolink/hsoconnectcontrol See http://www.pharscape.org/Software.html for more detailed descriptions. I offer my help for this if you need (I am DM and own an Option Icon 225 key for testing).
