I wonder if you've seen http://www.491.org/projets/api/ and what you think about it. And apologies if you did see it already, I didn't see this subject in the list archives. The very good NTK http://www.ntk.net/ reported this. -- The idea is that the first face shown to people is one they can readily accept - a more traditional logo.
