The result of a package search from http://www.debian.org/packages.html is not
sorted w.r.t. the distribution. It can be derived from the full path to the
package, but not all people are paying attention to it (and know the
difference). It becomes even more complicated when the mainstream versions of
a package are the same. The default search behaviour is to look for both stable
and unstable distributions and the packages from unstable are usually listed
first, which makes it even more dangerous.

The package search page now defaults to stable distribution and doesn't
have the confusion it did 2.5 years ago, closing bug.
