I installed "intel" driver 2.13.0-1 from experimental and promptly X
crashed again.
Xorg.0.log tells this:

(EE) intel(0): failed to set mode: Operation not permitted

EnterVT failed for screen 0

Now, however, gdm appears and I can login again to X session,
instead of having to reboot. No further crashes yet. Knock on wood...
