This bug report is old, and Squeeze's kernel has evolved a lot since then. I use Squeeze on this eeepc since a long time without big trouble. I have always the problem of resolution with GDM when starting with both LVDS and output VGA screens connected, but I can then login and select with xrandr my output VGA screen with the right resolution.
