As suggested in the upstream bug, I have enabled the option "WrappedFB" in my xorg.conf file. The server has not crashed anymore.
For the records and for those who may encounter the same bug, here is my simple xorg.conf which prevents the crash: ------ Section "Device" Identifier "myCard" Driver "nouveau" Option "WrappedFB" "on" EndSection ------ I used to have no xorg.conf file at all, all the configuration being done automatically.
