I'll have to try again with .39, the xorg and dri and kernel were at the latest versions (and even tried experimental) at the time I reported. Unfortunately I don't know what screensaver (I was finding the results when I came back from leaving the computer, with the screensaver in random mode, and unfortunately the logs don't record the info I need to determine screensaver (is there a way to get xscreensaver to log each screensaver it uses?) in use. -- <erno> hm.
