Dear Maintainer,

In the new versions of xorg, an xorg.conf is not always created, depending on
what video driver you're using. It would be nice if an informational xorg.conf
was created explaining the following:

xorg can use files ending in the suffix .conf in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d for
additional configuration. It is preferred to use an <empty xorg.conf> and
create files (e.g. 20-nvidia.conf, 20-radeon.conf, 20-wacom.conf) there in
order to configure a single device. You might have to create the directory
yourself (mkdir /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d). See also "man 5 xorg.conf".

That way, when you have folks that are expecting their x config to be in
xorg.conf, they will have something pointing them to the new structure of the
xorg.conf.d directory structure.

Thanks for your time.

The xorg.conf manpage should cover this. I disagree that we should
create an xorg.conf by default.

Cheers,
