Update... Setting option Option "NoAccel" "true"
Has fixed the problem. I haven't noticed any problems having this enabled in the way I use my computer, videos, glxgears etc. all work ok. So I suppose this bug report can be closed if desired. The only other option I was going to try was using a Display port to DVI adapter from the side of my laptop to replace the VGA from the docking station.
