Xfree4 is unable to use the built in glidepoint mouse after the laptop has been used (rebooted) in Windows XP. Mouse behaivor is consistent with that described for an improper protocol set in the mouse subsection of the XF86config file. The laptop has to be powered down completely before Xfree4 will be able to use the mouse again. This behaivor did not occur under the standard release of Mandrake 9.0 or 9.1. Also note that the current nvidia drivers have been installed from nvidia's installer NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4496-pkg2.run. However, this problem occurs regardless of which video driver is used (nv, nvidia). [/proc/pci] PCI devices found: Bus 0, device 0, function 0: Host bridge: VIA Technologies, Inc.
