If I'm interpreting the situation correctly, this isn't actually an error. You're downloading the debs and installing with dpkg -i, correct? But dpkg does not handle dependencies (dselect, apt-get do handle them), so the xprt-common package (not part of xfree86) is not downloaded and installed, hence the error you saw. Once 4.2.1-5 is uploaded to the servers, apt-get should grab xprt-common along with the new xprt, fulfilling the dependency. But you really want xprt-xprintorg, not xprt ;) By the way, Branden, there's a minor grammatical error in the new xprt description. It should read something like "Improvement of XFree86's version of the Xprint server is expected in a future release." ^^ instead of "Improvement of XFree86's version of the Xprint server is expected in future release." Or maybe "...in future releases". Drew -- PGP public key available at http://people.debian.org/~dparsons/drewskey.txt Fingerprint: A110 EAE1 D7D2 8076 5FE0 EC0A B6CE 7041 6412 4E4A
