They are available, just not to X servers or font servers that are running at that instant. > Please, call "xset fp rehash" in postinst of all fonts packages That wouldn't solve the problem -- it will only work for people who have the $DISPLAY variable set in the shell environment in which the dpkg maintainer scripts are executing, which will usually not be the case (and shouldn't be if the local adminstrator gives a hoot about security). In any case, it won't do a thing for users of other X server processes running on the box, or people getting font services from font servers running on this box. For all of the above reasons, I will not be honoring this request. -- G.
