I prepared my own solution and uploaded it as xcursor 1.0.2-4. Furthermore, the part about a lintian warning was erroneous. The current version of lintian in unstable produces no such warning (the only one it produces for the package is a warning about the Standards-Version header being "too new", which is a bug in lintian, not the package). In any event, NMUs -- particularly 0-day NMUs -- should probably restrict themselves to RC bugs, at least in the case of packages that appear to be actively maintained. If you feel xcursor is not actively maintained, please communicate your concerns to the debian-x mailing list. I appreciate your desire to see RC bugs squashed, but it would be more neighborly to contact package maintenance teams before proceeding with an NMU. (xcursor's control file correctly indicates its team-maintained status.) The 0-day NMU policy is probably used most advantageously with packages that require it. Closing this bug. --=20 G.
