The KDE Control Center doesn't offer support for the French Canadian keyboard layout (with a small Enter key, and < and > above Enter key...). Though, a French Canadian layout file is available but is not mapped by X. This bugs is filed as #17186 under KDE Bugs System. Correction, for memory, is: #cd /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb/symbols #ln -s ca_enhanced fr_CA #cd /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/rules #vi xfree86.lst and add line: fr_CA Canadian French Then, the Canadian French keyboard is available in KDE Control Center. -- System Information Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux balthazar 2.4.9-686-smp #1 SMP Sun Aug 19 11:17:05 EST 2001 i686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C Versions of packages kdebase depends on: ii debianutils 1.15 Miscellaneous utilities specific ii kdebase-libs 4:2.1.1.0-10 KDE libraries amd modules for kdeb ii kdelibs3 4:2.1.2-3 KDE core libraries (runtime files) ii libc6 2.2.4-1 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libjpeg62 6b-1.3 The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii libkonq3 4:2.1.1.0-10 Core libraries for KDE's file mana ii libpam-modules 0.72-32 Pluggable Authentication Modules f ii libpng2 1.0.12-2 PNG library - runtime ii libqt2 2:2.3.0-final-5 Qt GUI Library (runtime version). ii libstdc++2.10-glibc2.2 1:2.95.4-0.010902 The GNU stdc++ library ii xfree86-common 4.1.0-6 X Window System (XFree86) infrastr ii xlibs 4.1.0-6 X Window System client libraries ii zlib1g 1:1.1.3-15 compression library - runtime --------------------------------------- Received: (at 115284-done) by bugs.debian.org; 16 Apr 2004 20:01:40 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri Apr 16 13:01:40 2004 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from smtp-105-friday.noc.nerim.net (mallaury.noc.nerim.net) [62.4.17.105] by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1BEZWu-0001qi-00; Fri, 16 Apr 2004 13:01:40 -0700 Received: from localhost.localdomain (sinibar.net1.nerim.net [62.4.18.43]) by mallaury.noc.nerim.net (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4586C633BC for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Fri, 16 Apr 2004 22:01:37 +0200 (CEST) Received: by localhost.localdomain (Postfix, from userid 1000) id 9ADF523F65; Fri, 16 Apr 2004 22:04:14 +0200 (CEST) Date: Fri, 16 Apr 2004 22:04:14 +0200 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: xlibs-data: Bug #115284 fixed: update symbols and rules for French Canadian keyboards Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.5.1+cvs20040105i From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Denis Barbier) Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-2.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00 autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 X-Spam-Level: X-CrossAssassin-Score: 1 Hi, this keyboard is now listed into kcontrol, so I am closing this bug.
