If you have another machine and can connect from it with ssh to the machine running X, then: $ ssh foobar $ sudo gdb /usr/bin/Xorg $(pidof X) (gdb) c Then try to reproduce the crash, and at some point you should get: "Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault." And inside gdb, type "bt full", and send the output to this bug. Cheers, Julien
