When I removed the splash screen command line option (splashy) the screen came clear. Tested on two computers. And a few boots.
When digging a bit in to splashy I found this: http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/splashy-devel/2007-April/000674.html So now it seems that it has been splashy 0.3.2 that caused the problems. After updating to 0.3.3 I have not seen problems with any kernel or xorg. (On a small number of boots though) So I think this report can be closed and maybe before that moved to splashy package? Thank you for all the assistance!
