i am adding this remark for the sake of documentation only :-) i filed a bug report a while back : 402584 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=402584 in which i thought that the brightness control special keys Fn7-Fn8 do not work because of ACPI issues.
BUT... now that i found this bug report just a few minutes ago :-) and followed its instructions to install experimental ati xorg drivers which now solved this issue for me on Compaq Presario 1500 with Radeon Mobility M7 LW [Radeon Mobility 7500] i'll close and redirect the other bug report. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
