My initial report was slightly confusing, indeed. I cleared the
situation on IRC but I'll put the summary here too.

I just replaced graphic adapter (from ATI to nVidia). I run, as always,
dpkg-reconfigure xserver-org to change the drivers. I was confused by lack
of some sections (Device for example) and I submitted the bugreport. Later
I just discovered that there is no need for Device section as Xserver shall
be able to detect a driver to load. Indeed, it works for xorg nv driver but
not for nvidia proprietary one.
