I have set something similar for my laptops in KDE: $ grep 96 /etc/kde3/kdm/* /etc/kde3/kdm/kdmrc:ServerArgsLocal=-nolisten tcp -dpi 96 As this is really as X.Org problem I'm reassigning it to that team.
