This notes section seems to be about hal, but AFAIK configuration has been moved to udev. According to the old Xorg.4.log file the synaptics driver wasn't loaded. After reinstalling the driver _is_ found and synclient works (see the new attachments), but there are still no scroll wheel events. Regards Harri
