[debutant] ./configure : message d'erreur.

Bonjour à toutes et à tous.
J'ai tenté d'installer xchat-2.0.1 à partir de son archive tar.bz.
Tout allait bien jusqu'à que je tape ./configure , et là , ça dit :

Dois-je comprendre que mon compilateur a une tête qui ne lui revient pas ?
Ou est-ce autre chose ?
Mdk 8.2 ; gcc 2.96
